Slavery and racism is prevalent throughout the Americas before during and after Thomas Jeffersons presidency. From the very first time we meet him he believes he is in love with Rosaline and uses extremely poetic language to describe this, phrases such as love is a smoke made with the fire of sighs. I get two impressions from this quote. One is that he almost enjoys the melancholy involved with unrequited love, due to the use of sighs and the second is that this love is merely created to fix his need for melancholy. This gives him an outlet into which he likes to play intellectually with words and likes to test his own literary skills, often he uses oxy-morons to further these literary skills such as brawling love and loving hate. When asked whether he loves her by Benvolio, he begins to talk O she is rich in beauty this again gives us the impression of lust or infatuation rather than love and is merely a subject of his word fencing. Romeo seems to almost enjoy the intellectual challenge of being in this constant melancholy state. His melancholy state continues right up until the moment he first sees Juliet in which we see his whole mood and state disappear. Within the space of one night we see a young man whose doting love is unrequited placing him in a position of weak and lonely melancholy. He stops brooding and groaning for love, and actually goes out of his way to make sure this love works and that it is not unrequited, his friends notice the difference as Mercutio comments now art though sociable, now art though Romeo. It seems as if this new love has given him a purpose, as before he would wander the streets of fair Verona and would lock himself away in his room. This love is definite as we see his description of Rosaline was O she is rich in beauty, however his description of Juliet is O it is my love. We see that although her beauty stuns Romeo, he know knows love and not infatuation due to beauty. The rest of the city sees Romeo as a portly well governed and virtuous youth. What they dont mention is the most potent of his characteristics, his pure and undying passion. Passion lends them power this statement shows us how Romeos pure passion for Juliet portrays this powerful, fiery young man that we see develop from a sulky boy who would lock himself away. His attitude of love seems to only develop after he has met Juliet. Beforehand, his love for Rosaline did read by rote but could not spell which means that Romeo had learnt to love and did not understand his own love. But once he has fallen for Juliet, we see his attitude towards love. It is one of total devotion and that once you have fallen in love, that is it, that love should last you for eternity. This attitude is evident throughout the play, shown when he finds out Juliet is dead, he feels he cannot live without her and so kills himself. It is also shown when he tries to kill himself after being banished from Verona, if he cannot be with her, then there is no point in living. His attitudes towards family and friends love should also be commented on due to the fact that his passion is also shown in these forms of love. The most prominent evidence of this is when he killed Tybalt in retribution for his dear friend Mercutio. Romeo is a dreamer, he acts hastily and with pure passio n. When he goes to the apothecary is a perfect example of his haste and thinking with his heart rather than his head. Romeo can really be summed up by one word in my opinion, passion. He acts and thinks nothing else, everything revolves around his passion for something, be it Juliet or Mercutio for example. His passion is the factor that produces such beautiful, romantic, poetic language that we see throughout the play. So coupled with Romeos passion we see Juliets love which is the perfect contrast to Romeos, which in turn emphasises just how much these two star-crossed lovers were bound to join, it was fate. Juliet is differs to Romeo; she develops and grows during the play rather than Romeo who actually finds himself underneath the melancholy young boy. When we first meet Juliet she is an obedient child. But as the play progresses and especially once she is in love with Romeo, we see a very powerful woman with her own views. Ill look to like, if looking liking move, but no more shall I endart mine eye than your consent gives strength to make it fly, the first part of this quote emphasises the obedient child view we first receive, and the second part emphasises that she looks to her parents to tell her what to feel and do. But once she has met and fallen for Romeo then she begins to develop at alarming rate, all of a sudden we have an obedient child totally change. Once in love, she becomes resolute, self-assured, unflinching and extremely passionate. As for her passion, it is just as strong as Romeos is but she has a quality that Romeo lacks. She is passionate yet still can be practical. This is shown after Romeo and Juliet spent the night together. She tries to persuade Romeo to stay with her and when he agrees, it is not day, she then realises that he must go and that she cannot be selfish, she says it is its hie hence be gone away. Another extremely good example of this is when Romeo goes to Juliets balcony and she persistently asks him how he got over the walls, How camst thou hither, tell me, and wherefore? She is trying to protect him from himself as she realises he is a dreamer. Juliets love for Romeo is true and faithful. She defends him, this is shown when the nurse criticises Romeo, she replies to the nurses comments Blistered be thy tongue. She has a total love for him, she even says at one point that she would rather have her parents die than Romeo be killed. This is also partly due to the fact that she doesnt even know her parents as she was raised by the nurse therefore the only form of love we see her harbour for her parents is one of dutiful affection. Her attitude towards her love for Romeo is whatever it takes. Whatever she needs to do to be with Romeo she is willing to do, this is evident throughout the play. The main example of this is when Juliet has to fake her death by taking a potion that friar Lawrence had produced. She had many doubts about taking as shown when she says I have a faint fear thrills through my veins. Aswell as her passion for love she is very physically passionate with Romeo as she says she would give her body to him, take all myself, she calls. Juliets attitude towards love is a lot like Romeos. They both have the same undying unflinching love that is powered by the two characters impetuous passion that is so strong it leads to deaths throughout the play. But Juliets character means that her love is portrayed in a different way to all the other characters in the play. Her practicality means that she appears more self-assured and confident than Romeo. Also, she appears a lot more realistic but there are glimpses of her romantic feelings throughout the play and at times her language seems to be even more beautiful and poetic than Romeos is, for example My bounty is boundless as the sea, my love is as deep. In contrast to other characters, she shares none of the same values of her parents especially her father, as he wants to marry her into a marriage of convenience, just like him. The nurse brought up Juliet. She is a very important character in this play for many reasons. She has a very bawdy and coarse character that often makes sexual jokes. This is shown on a number of occasions, such as Thou wilt fall backward when thou hast more wit. This bawdy nature of the nurse is important because she creates comic relief throughout this tragedy, which would have been greatly appreciated especially in the Elizabethan period. Another reason of her importance is that she provides a friendship for Juliet and a character that Juliet confides in. But the nurses actual view of love is extremely different to Romeo and Juliet as she has an extremely materialistic view of love and also a very physical view that is similar to Mercutios perspective. This is a play on words that means that women grow in stature once married but also grow in size due to pregnancy. Her view is that a wife makes a man complete and because of this view it shows that the nurse has no idea of the love Juliet has for Romeo. Due to this, the nurse severely underestimates Juliet. She seems to have no idea about marriage even though she had a husband. This is shown when she tries to persuade Juliet to marry Paris even though she knows Juliet is married to Romeo, this is clearly immoral but the nurse seems to think nothing of it. The nurse seems to always to do a dis-service to Juliet regarding Romeo as shown with the proposed marriage to Paris aswell as when Romeo kills Tybalt and the nurse begins to openly criticise him in front of Juliet in which Juliet loses her temper. But what makes this even more confusing is the fact that at first she helps Juliet with the marriage as she is constantly sending messages between the two lovers but then betrays her with the Paris situation that begins to appear. The nurse in general seems to have a view of physical love and a view that coincides with Juliets parents, as she seems to believe in the marriage of convenience proposed by them. This is maybe so due to the fact that we see her as a bit of a social climber as we see her trying to be popular with Mercutio and Benvolio. So, really her betrayal of Juliet should have been more obvious as her views do not coincide with Juliets in the smallest amount it. But apart from Mercutios general attitude towards love and being centre of attention. He seems to have another side to him. His love for Romeo is very important as he obviously holds this friendship very highly, just as Romeo does. This friendship is extremely fiery and passionate. Mercutio loves Romeo and in effect dies for Romeo, as he cannot bear to see Romeo be portrayed as a coward and so fights for him. Mercutio doesnt seem to understand why love is so important to Romeo as the only reason for love in Mercutios view is for sex. If we were talking about modern culture then Mercutio would have been compared to lad culture, aswell as Benvolio. This means that Mercutio is mocking Romeo for things that Mercutio doesnt understand and that he hasnt experienced. Although Mercutio is a dear friend of Romeo and they have a deep fiery passion and love for each other, Romeo cannot confide in him due to the fact that Mercutio doesnt understand Romeos woes and would end up mocking him. Therefore Romeo has to confide in someone else. He is not close with his parents and therefore friar Lawrence seems to take up a role that seems to cross over between father and friend. Throughout we see the influence of the friar and he seems to genuinely care for both Romeo and Juliet. Being a holy man also helps as it helps him understand the importance of Romeo and Juliets marriage. His view of love seems to be an extremely traditional Christian view of love. He clearly believes that marriage is the best part of life and so tries desperately to help the two lovers but seems quite foolish in his plans as they fail to work. The whole way through the play we see the friar advise Romeo and in general give extremely wise and good advice to Romeo. He also notices the difference between Romeos doting love for Rosaline and the love he harbours for Juliet. Aswell as helping to provide happiness for the two lovers, I believe that he also sees the good in uniting the two feuding houses. Among his advice there is one piece that maybe Romeo and Juliet didnt follow which was loving moderately. He also knows about science, as he was able to produce the potion that made Juliet appear as if she was dead. This is important with regards to the audience as it emphasises his intellect and therefore validates his advice that bit more, as the audience would have been uneducated and un-travelled. In general friar Lawrence has an extremely Christian view of love and believes in the traditional values which means he has no trouble in marrying the two lovers even though they are from families that absolutely hate each other. He also has a fatherly love for both Romeo and Juliet but provides a vast amount of advice for Romeo and seems to be his spiritual father. Juliets father however, seems to care quite a lot less about his daughters spiritual well being as he seems to totally disregard her feelings although at first he comes across as a loving father. At first when Paris approaches Capulet for Juliets hand in marriage he tells Paris not only to let two more summers whither in their pride but also My will to her consent is but a part. This gives us the impression that Capulet genuinely cares for her. The main reason for these comments is the fact that I believe Capulet done exactly what Paris is trying to do, and he has seen how marrying to early has marred his own wife. We also get the impression that he dearly loves as her as there is mention that Juliet is his only child and that the others have died. He says the earth hath swallowed all my hopes but she, this gives the impression that his other children have died. But then in a sudden change of heart, he betrays Juliet and agrees to this marriage of convenience and gives her no say whe ther she shall marry Paris and is prepared to cast her out of the house if she dis obeys him. Several factual situations have arisen and this will require the partners to look at the agreement entered into between the parties, as well the statutory provisions that are contained within the Partnership Act 1890 (PA). When looking at the situations being presented here, it is recognised that there is a partnership agreement in place and this would need to be seen in its entirety, in order to advise fully. Based on the above, this discussion will look at the facts presented and the extract of the agreement, alongside the statutory provisions, in order to determine ultimately the way in which the various issues raised can be dealt with. This will depend on a combination of the statutory provisions and anything that may be in a partnership agreement. As the partnership agreement has not been see n, the basis of this advice is that the partnership agreement is in keeping with the statutory and common law provisions. Four key issues have been identified and will be discussed in turn. Firstly, there are queries in relation to the potential appointment of either Tina or Helen, both of whom are related to Andrea and for slightly different reasons she wishes them to be included in the partnership. Secondly, there is a question in relation to the potential expulsion of Julia from the partnership. Thirdly, a suggested arbitration clause has been requested and is contained below. In principle, therefore, if Catherine remains unhappy about the proposition, she alone could not block this appointment. It is however argued, particularly in the case of Tina, that Andrea is acting in breach of her fiduciary duties to the partnership by attempting to include Tina, simply so that the partnership could remain within her family, in the future. There is a strong argument that putting Tina forward is a conflict of interest and therefore should not be allowed by virtue of the Partnership Act. Therefore, Catherine could present this argument, even if she remains in a minority. The position in relation to Helen is somewhat more complex, as it could be argued to be in the partnerships best interests to recruit a much needed bookkeeper who is suitably qualified. As it would seem that Andrea and Julia would vote in favour of including Tina and Helen in the partnership, it would then be up to Catherine to argue that Andrea is acting in breach of her duties. It would be considerably easier for Catherine to prove this in the case of Tina who seemingly has no purpose in the partnership save as to further Andrea’s interests. In reality, however, it would be necessary to look at the provisions of the partnership agreements, in order to ascertain what would happen in the event of a dispute. The ultimate sanction for a partnership that is no longer tenable is the winding up of the partnership and this may not be desirable to any of the partners (section 26). In that case, consideration should be given to any arbitration of the possibility or the opportunity of one party to buy another out. It is not clear what provisions are contained within the partnership agreement for this and therefore the rules established in the Partnership Act 1890 prevailed on the partnership, with the danger of being wound up, if no agreement can be reached. It is also noted that, in accordance with clause 20, a notice of expulsion could be issued upon Andrea stating that she has breached her duties as a partner within the partnership. Although Catherine is unhappy with their actions, there is no indication that Julia is insufficiently unhappy that she is likely to be willing to pursue this route, although it does present a potential option in the event that both Catherine and Julia feel sufficiently strongly that Andrea is breaching her duties, in attempting to ensure that the partnership stays within her family, in the future. Expulsion of Julia Firstly, it is noted that, in accordance with section 25 of the 1890 Act, there is no immediate right for the majority to expel a fellow partner within the partnership. Therefore, it is necessary for Andrea and Catherine to look at the provisions of the partnership agreement, in order to ascertain whether or not they have any legitimate way to expel Julia, based on recent events. An alternative would be to look at the dissolution of the partnership and there are certain conditions within the Act which allow for this, although at this stage it is not perceived to be the desirable route and instead both Andrea and Catherine are looking towards the clauses within the partnership agreement, in order to expel Julia. An extract of the partnership agreement, namely clause 20, has been provided and it is recognised that there may be additional clauses within the agreement which have not been seen that could impact on the advice given. However, for the purposes of providing this advice, claus e 20 will be looked at. It is possible for the remaining partners to provide a notice in writing to the partner who is in breach of clause 20, terminating their position within the partnership, if the partner acts in a way that is a breach of their duties, or if they have acted in a way that is contrary to good faith between the partners, such notice may be provided. In this case, Julia has been convicted of a criminal offence namely drunk and disorderly behaviour, with a recognition that Julia is undergoing difficult personal circumstances. The question here would therefore be whether this conviction is such that it breaches one of the partnership duties, or creates a situation where it cannot be said that Julia is acting in good faith, going forwards. It is suggested that, due to Julia’s current level of distress, there is a strong argument that the necessary good faith between the partners has irretrievably been eroded and that clause 20 is then utilised in order to expel Julia from the partnership. In the alternative to taking a litigious approach and given Julia’s existing unhappiness with the attempted changes from Andrea, a form of settlement may be possible, or arbitration to resolve the situation. It is unclear as to whether these situations are dealt with within the partnership agreement and further investigation is necess ary to prevent a potential dissolution or battle in relation to the expulsion of Julia. It is, however, concluded that the actions of Julia are sufficiently severe that they could be used in order to expel her. Arbitration Clause As evident above, it would be advisable for the partnership agreement to have some form of dispute resolution mechanism in place. A suggested wording for such arbitration or dispute resolution mechanism is as follows: â€Å"Except as otherwise provided, any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement, including any question regarding its existence, validity or termination, or the legal relationships established by this agreement, shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Rules of the London Court of International Arbitration, which Rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference into this clause. (a) The number of arbitrators shall be one. (b) The seat, or legal place, of arbitration shall be London. (c) The language to be used in the arbitral proceedings shall be English. (d) The governing law of the contract shall be the substantive law of England and Wales. 33.2 This clause shall be without prejudice to the rights of any party to seek any injunctive or similar relief from the courts to protect its intellectual property rights, confidentiality obligations, restrictions on the activities of any Partner or former Partner or other rights of any description.† This offers a dispute resolution mechanism that is both certain and efficient in dealing with such disputes and does not require the dissolution of a partnership unnecessarily. Examining The Cultural Reason Behind Tattooing And Piercings Media Essay Why is it that more and more people are tattooing and/or piercing themselves? Is there a cultural reason behind this reality? Each time that we walk we see someone with a tattoo and or a piercing(s). The reality is that tattoos and/or piercing(s) have become increasingly popular not just in the United States but all over the world. I admit that I have a tattoo and three piercings. I also admit that I decided to get a tattoo as soon as I turned eighteen like most teenagers do. People have so many reasons as to why they have a tattoo or as to why they want to get a tattoo in the near future. Most of the time we receive images and messages through the media about tattoos and piercings and therefore they may influence us. Some people believe that tattoos are a form of expression and art while others think of tattoos as attractive or taboo. Through the media, adolescents see over 5,000 attractiveness messages per year. This means that most adolescents are being pressure by the media to lo ok unique and different by tattooing/piercing themselves. Not just the media influences a society into tattoos and/or piercing but the culture that they live in. Cultural influences play a huge role on how people act, dress, speak, and even on the way they think. Tattoos and piercing have created their own culture in which people have adapted and continued Despite the fact that some people consider tattoos and/or piercing taboo, people will still continue to tattoo and pierce themselves because it is a cultural practice done for centuries and therefore it will continue for centuries. Tattooing and piercing are two of the oldest practices in the world. They have ancient roots that start as early as 15,000 years ago. According to Jane Caplan, Physical evidence for the practice survives from the late fourth millennium BC in Europe and from about 2000BC in Egypt, and tattooing can be found virtually all parts of the world at the same time (1). Tattoos in many cultures like in the Maroni culture have used tattoos for centuries and considered it as sacred art. The Maroni culture like so many cultures all the world have many purposes as to why they decide to mark themselves forever. Many cultures believed that a tattoo was powerful enough to cure anyone from any illness. Some people also believed that tattooing themselves would help them express their personal and religious believes. Body piercing has been dated as early as 1500 B.C.E. Body piercings like tattoos is consider as a way to express ones one individuality. Similar to tattoos, a person can decided to get pier ce everywhere in the body. There is no rule as to where you can get a tattoo and/or body piercing or how big or small it can be. Tattoos and body piercing have been spread out all around the world and even to the most remote places and cultures. In the essay The Decorated Body by Frances Borel, Borel states, Human nakedness, according to the social custom, is unacceptable, unbearable, and dangerous. From the moment of birth, society takes charge, managing, dressing, forming, and deforming the child-sometimes even with a certain degree of violence. Aside from the most elementary caretaking concerns-the very diversity of which shows how subjective the motivation isan unfathomably deep and universal tendency pushes families, clans, and tribes to rapidly modify a persons physical appearance. (40) There is no rule as to where you can get a tattoo and/or body piercing or how big or small it can be. If we take a closer approach specifically to the culture of tattoos in the United States, we can see how culture has played a huge role in the popularity of tattoos and body piercings. Pretty can be defined in various way and it is defined differently in many cultures. In India, having a ring in your neck is considered beautiful. In China, having small feet done by a process of shrinking feet called foot binding is considered beautiful. In the United States, tattoos to some people are considered beautiful. Tattoos became to be known in the early 1700s. A man named Captain Cook went on a trip to the South Pacific Islands and found fascinating the fact that most people were marked with some distinctive designs. He later brought a young girl with him to the United States and Americans were astounded. Tattoos were at first had made because there was not a specific tool for making tattoos. A man named Martin Hilderbrandt became the first professional tattoo artist in the United States. Hilderbrandt like many tattoo artist had no tool for making efficient and faster tattoos. It was not until 1891 that the first electric needled was used. A man named Samuel OReilly create d and patented the first electric needled. He opened the first tattoo shop in New York City. After the first shop opened in New York City, many Americans decided to become tattoo artists themselves and even opened their own tattoo shops. The number of tattoo artists and shops increased rapidly in the United States. Some Americans believed that if they tattooed their entire body, they would express their individuality. Men and women decided to exhibit themselves and some went on traveling shows or went to work on the circus. Some couples would tattoo their whole body and display themselves on public. I personally would not decide to cover my entire body in tattoos and/or body piercings. Beside the fact that tattoos and body piercings are expensive, they are also painful. I decided to get a shooting star tattoo because beside the fact that I love stars I wanted to get a design that was unique. One of my close friends designed by tattoo and therefore it made my tattoo original and unique. I did not know why I decided to get a tattoo. However since tattoos and body piercings were so new in America, many did not accept them. While many Americans were fascinated with tattoos and body piercing, others viewed them a taboo. Some people did not have any taste with tattoos and/or body piercings. Tattoos become so popular in so little time that it was hard for people to accept them. Tattoos were not considered art or a way of individualism. Tattoos were not considered as a way of expression. Many believed that it was morally wrong to tattoo and/or body pierce the entire body. However tattoos and body piercings never went out of style and continued to be popular not just in the United States but all over the world. After World War Two (WWII), many Americans decided to get a tattoo(s) to show their courage and bravery in the war. Tattoos and body piercings become a style and a fashion. Tattoos and body piercings became a trend and it is still a trend even to this day. They are both widely accepted like they were in many different culture all around the world. Different forms of tattoo art have been practiced by many different cultures of the world, over the centuries.Tattooing is one of the oldest practices in the United States. Tattoos have become part of our everyday life and we cannot stop it. Tattoos are not very easily removed and at the same time the procedure is very expensive and painful. But do people decide to get tattoos and/or piercings? But we intend to Join hands with the environmental control organizations and regulatory authorities which are working to aka it a compulsion on industry to produce recycle able products. Then we will also focus that this industry must make low power consumpt ion CIT products.Also in their manufacturing they must also work on reducing their power consumption by making their systems efficient. As it focusing on conserving energy and making environment better, it include the advantage of using CIT products in the environment for telecommuting[3]. Review :Current technology – Recently applied technologies which reduces CA A closer look at how CIT causes carbon dioxide emissions reveals two main culprits: University office desktop environments and data enters. Most of ‘CT-related CA emissions are caused by desktop computers and their monitors, and another by servers and cooling systems.We will therefore begin by discussing ways for Green CIT to reduce CA emissions in University office environments and in data centers[3]. Green CIT not only protects the environment by reducing the emissions emitted by CIT itself. When effectively and comprehensively applied, it can contribute much more. In University office environments, there is a long and established practice of replacing conventional means of communication with CIT applications. To a large extent, hardcopy letters (along with the corresponding paper consumption, transportation and logistics) have been replaced by e-mail and testing[l].Further savings potential lies in the creation of electronic work processes. This includes digitizing, archiving and distributing documents by e-mail or uploading them to a website making them available for all downstream operations. This generates savings in terms of paper, energy consumption and CA. Today, innovative solutions are available for high-tech â€Å"pens† integrated digital process, saving process costs and preventing information loss[2]. Thin clients are much more energy-efficient than conventional desktop PC's, reducing CA emissions and the cost of purchase and operation.Replacing a desktop PC with a thin client reduces the CA emissions of the desktop system. Thin clients are much lighter and more comp act, and consist of fewer components – yielding benefits with regard to transportation, disposal, and consumption of materials. Green CIT can improve business processes that are not directly involved in ‘CT, and dramatically lower CA emissions throughout the process chain. It is here that its true potential becomes apparent that CIT now accounts for global CA emissions. But Green CIT can also help significantly reduce the CA emissions not caused by CIT[2].Rationale and Systems Analysis According to the IT director of the University of Bradford, the campus provides IT facilities for the students use, the university has an assets of almost 3000 PC's and three servers which are used in a daily basis which unfortunately are not used appropriately and efficiently. However, at peak times the students use around 1 500 PC's, which basically is half of the PC's of the university. So in order to avoid power loss, an assets management system will be designed and applied within the campus.On the other hand, university servers use up to 27. 1 % of the campus's energy, so a new cooling system is already being installed in order to reduce the energy costs and the CA emissions. In addition to that, the estimation of the base load is around 20% of the energy which is considered highly utilized; a vast amount of the energy worn needs a major reduction as much as possible. Therefore, an investigation will be undertaken to identify different solutions which participate in the base load reduction . An initial plan will be designed to be employed within the campus.Since he students are considered a major contributor towards the energy usage. An awareness event will take place in the campus to help students understand the concept of the green technology. During this week simple energy efficiency programs will be undertaken. While the campaign is taking place the energy usage will be monitored and observed before and after the event. Currently the biggest problem rising is that the number of students enrolled in the university is around 15000 students and assuming 90% of the students have their own PC or laptop.So the idea of applying the cloud computing will save an enormous amount of money and at name time it will reduce the CA emissions. So the idea of cloud computing offers an efficient way of solving this problem. A model building will be chosen and modifications will be applied to this building, the energy usage of the building before the modifications will be compared to the usage after the modifications. The results will basically show whether its sufficient to apply them or not.Solution research 1) CIT devices can be made power efficient Each and every University office desktop offers opportunities to save energy. This involves both energy-efficient use of equipment ND the use of energy-efficient equipment. Even without deploying any new workers to change their habits. University policies can be developed and published making employees awa re of how they can contribute through the use of hibernation mode and power-management software for hardware, duplex printing, and generally avoiding unnecessary printouts.The latest generation of energy-conserving desktop PC's, thanks to their better power units, storage technology and processors can slash energy costs[2]. State-of-threat LCD screens and thin-client architectures offer further opportunities for savings. The consistent, enterprise-wide deployment of energy-efficient and cost-saving equipment is a major challenge. Outsourcing the entire office CIT landscape is one way to implement Green CIT – by minimizing the number of desktop computers and printers and maximizing their efficiency.University typically use a large number of, often different, devices for printing, faxing, copying and scanning. This complex landscape often leads to a lack of transparency, and there are often no accurate figures available on the total cost of operation[3]. However, the ratio of u sers to devices can be significantly improved by analyzing the rent infrastructure and actual user requirements: then changes can be made to the type, number and position of devices, ensuring better use is made of available capacity, and reducing stand-by and idle times.Thin clients are much more energy-efficient than conventional desktop PC's. Thin clients are much lighter and more compact, and consist of fewer components – yielding benefits with regard to transportation, disposal, and consumption of materials. Just getting to and from the University office inflicts considerable burdens on the environment: millions of commuters spend hours every day on roads, spewing immense amounts of exhaust gases into the atmosphere[3]. 2) CIT manufacturing industries can save a lot of money CIT devices consume 80% of power of their whole life during their manufacturing in the industry.Only 20% of the power is consumed during their operational life and industry is more focused on saving s ome percentage of this 20% power. Indeed it is of key importance but we are more concerned about the 80% part as by deploying energy efficient machinery we can save a lot of cost, by conserving energy. Manufacturing of CIT devices consumes a lot of natural resources like fossil fuels, water and chemicals. And due to regular advancement in the CIT industry a device has a life cycle of one to two years hardly[2]. Then in becomes obsolete.This then leads to another problem, there is hardly any professional recycling process or method introduced by industry so that the precious chemicals, iron, copper and other materials used in manufacturing can be properly disposed or recycled to conserve energy and resources. Then instead of throwing away or recycling these products we can focus on manufacturing and introducing products which can support and handle future development[l]. They can be upgraded. Manufacturers can get back this extra cost on recycle able design by getting benefit from re cycling. But they only face time limitations due to high competition level.However there are regulatory authorities which are now focusing on implementing environmental laws on CIT manufacturers[2]. PER, extended producer responsibility is a concept owe a lot of responsibility in protecting environment from the wastes of their industries, high energy consumption and much more. 3) Consumers can become a force, by purchasing recycle able and upgrade able product But we as consumers owe a good share of this responsibility. We must purchase those CIT products which are recycle able, which can be upgraded, which consume low power and which are made in an energy efficient environment.In the university we will introduce only those CIT devices which are up to the mark on above mentioned standards, so that there might not be any harm to the environment. Then we will do research on efficient energy consumption products. We will try to make devices which utilize very little energy [2]. Also we will focus on understanding the up gradation possibilities of less efficient industrial machinery in CIT industry. We must focus on the fundamental sign of the CIT products, because it is only at this stage that we can design devices which can be upgraded and recycled.We will try to limit as much as possible the use of toxic chemicals in the manufacturing of CIT products because if not recycled, these chemicals destroy our environment which is largely the case at this time. And we must understand that it is a global responsibility, this message from our research must prevail in the whole world[3]. We must try to educate people about the adverse effects of these bad practices of unjustly dumping CIT devices. IT devices and data enters in different organizations and our university as well consume a lot of energy and sometimes it is more than what is displayed on the devices due to older devices.Therefore power efficiency is now given key factor in calculating the efficiency of the da ta centers. Project Deliverables Increasingly, CIT solutions are used to support University processes. These solutions can streamline University processes and have enormous potential for reducing CA emissions, because they improve the utilization of resources and allow them to be shared. CIT also permits in-depth monitoring of energy consumption and CA emissions throughout the value chain, so University processes and organizational structures can be enhanced accordingly[2].The potential savings are particularly great in University with extensive, complex supply chains. But CIT can also have a major impact on supporting processes, I. E. Via resource utilization in offices. In University with complex supply chains, efforts focus on reducing transportation. Intelligent transportation systems combine an array of applications to cut fuel consumption by up to 30%, in conjunction with much lower CA emissions – but with no loss in service quality. These systems are based on detailed, up-to-the- minute traffic information captured by an extensive network of IT devices and transmitted by telecommunications equipment.Route planners and navigation systems then calculate and continually update the best possible route for vehicles and payloads[3]. The aim is to minimize the distances traveled, and the corresponding time, fuel costs, and to a large extent, CA emissions. Other applications, such as precise satellite RIFF-assisted positioning solutions, enable more efficient utilization of entire vehicle fleets. These technologies can also be applied to water and air transportation; for example, streamlining airfreight operations could reduce fuel consumption by more than 10%. Racing systems, with nationalization through reduced charges, can encourage the use of low emission trucks[l]. Increasingly precise and realistic computer-aided simulation and design tools (CAD) are gradually eliminating or at least minimizing the necessity of physical prototypes. Here too, greate r attention can be paid to software- aided energy-saving functions for users. At the level of the vehicles themselves, automatic start-stop functions briefly switch the engine off when the clutch is snagged.Many non-core, cross-industry processes can be positively influenced by ‘CT. Energy management is a particularly effective approach. Ideally, energy efficiency should be a key consideration from the outset, I. E. When planning and designing new offices and production facilities, giving rise to â€Å"smart buildings†. But innovative energy management systems can also be retrofitted at reasonable expense in existing buildings, adjusting the power consumption of lighting, heating and cooling systems in line with actual requirements.For private households, various providers re now developing smart metering and home management systems that comply with the EX. energy efficiency directive by identifying powering systems and opportunities for savings, and by influencing cons umer behavior[2]. IT plays a key role in applications of this kind. Currently, there are many data centers in the University. Green CIT could realize enormous savings in all of these data centers. Widespread use of state-of-the-art energy-efficient technologies and solutions, such as fertilization, could push the power consumption of data centers down to almost halving it in Just few years [2]. Another crucial factor is load.Servers in well-organized environments with UNIX machines operate at Just 35 to 45% of capacity; with Intel servers, the figure is even lower, at 15 to 30%. On average, only 25 to 40% of data storage capacity is used. Util ization rates an be considerably improved by consolidating servers, storage systems and entire data centers – saving a great deal of energy. Fragmented legacy data-center landscapes can be consolidated to Just a few data centers. Outsourcing often plays a major role. An IT service provider, for example, can operate a small number of large, efficient data centers that support multiple customer organizations [3].It is also possible to make better use of data-center resources, for example, by fertilization and by deploying shared-services solutions. This involves creating logical systems that are independent of the underlying physical assets. Instead of being dedicated to specific purposes, resources are shared and therefore used more efficiently. The ability to intelligently assign and administer resources is a key function within any fertilization solution. It ensures maximum flexibility in resource allocation. When servers are only operating under part load they still consume nearly as much power as fully utilized ones.Fertilization makes it possible to shut down servers that are largely idle, maximizing savings. Another possibility is for enterprises to access networks. Now they have become part and parcel o f day-to-day business reality; Universities are accepting responsibility for the CA emissions they cause and are taking action. CIT has, in many ways, a vital role to play.It accounts for about two percent of global CA emissions, which must, and can, be curtailed. In addition, through the intelligent use of CIT solutions to support University processes in other Universities, it can help curb the other 98 % of emissions. The deployment of Green CIT makes a valuable contribution to protecting the environment. Many of the approaches presented in this paper are associated with lower costs, especially those that target energy consumption. They also improve a University image, and noticeably raise students and employee satisfaction.And as policymakers increasingly address climate change, new legislation and regulations on CIT can be expected in the near future. So Universities are well-advised to act now. Some approaches are already being practiced now. Every University has its own unique situation, and the first step should therefore be to analyze it. We have already ascribed possible approaches for University processes, data centers and office environments. Quick wins can be achieved by harvesting â€Å"low-hanging fruit†, for example by encouraging more energy-efficient use of office equipment or duplex printing.

My personal plan is to for me to better myself with my personal and educational goals. With the help of the Career Interests Profiler and Career Plan Building Activity I can identify what I need to work on. Also, they help make my SMART goals, which I think are necessary for me to complete to make my personal plan successful. My SMART goals are; take a Math workshop within the next 2-4 weeks to improve my math skills, take a writing workshop within the next 4-6 weeks to improve my writing skills, find a mentor that is an accountant within the next 6 months, explore the accountant job market within the next 2 months, and to take a study guide workshop within the next 3-5 weeks to improve my study skills. I think that those two results along with my ethics results will help me guide through my academic and personal journey. I also agree with my competency’s results. I think it is more important to work on areas that need improvement then to focus on my strengths I feel as though my Personal Career Interest results were correct. My career results are material recording, scheduling, dispatching, and distributing material recording, secretaries, administrative assistant, and supervisor of an office, administrative support worker and supervisor of sales worker. I also feel as though my results matched my strengths. The results revealed that my strengths are that I am conventional, enterprising, and social. I take my personal education and career goals very serious. I feel as though my goals are what is going to help me succeed in my education and career. My biggest personal education goal is to graduate with a Bachelors in Accounting. Another educational goal I have is to try my hardest to uphold a 3.0 GPA. When it comes to my career goals I know they are ones that I will accomplish, because they are the reason why I am in college. My first career goal is to become an accountant. Then once I am an accountant I want to work for my local hospital and be their accountant. And my final career goal is to have my own CPA business. I think that everyone should have education and career goals, because that is what pushes you to succeed. My career interests will help me guide through my academic journey, because I will know what courses I need to take to get my career. After taking the Career Interest Profiler, my results showed me that I am meant to be an Accountant. My competencies will guide me in many ways through my  academic journey. My competencies that will guide me through my journey are that I learn from failure and success, follow instructions from others, follow procedures and policies, achieve goals, uphold ethics and values, work under pressure and, demonstrate an immediate understanding of newly presented information. I feel as though pursing a degree does help me build on my competencies that I need for my future career. The competencies I need to build for my career are to set high standards for quality, build diverse teams, work under pressure, rapidly learn a new task and commit information to memory quickly. The academic work that I do for my course assignments are related in some type of way to all my competencies. For example my competency to set high standards for quality goes hand in hand with setting a goal to write the best papers that I can for my course assignments. My personal ethics, Career Plan competencies, and reasoning abilities results will all help me in many ways to guide me through my academic journey. My personal ethics will help me to know what is right and wrong when it comes to my academics. For example I will work hard to do my writing assignments instead of choosing to plagiarize. My competencies and reasoning abilities will also help me through my academic journey. All of my competencies and reasoning abilities will help me. I do not only believe that all three of these things will help me through my academic journey but that my academic journey will help me build on these things to make them stronger for future career.

Southern slaves, as Kolchin observes, suffered an extraordinary amount of interference in their daily lives .
